The consultant will be selected based on his/her experience, reputation as well as knowledge of political and societal developments in the country. The person will be asked to prove scope of network he/she posses in the country (including CSOs, both established and resent, emerging political/social movements, both in the capital and the regions, alternative media outlets, cultural and environmental initiatives etc.).

Primary Tasks and Responsibilities

• Monitor initiatives and maintain contact with activists supported by the Centre in Kyrgyzstan, provide regular feedback and assessment of their work.
• Explore new initiatives, projects and actors, whose work could be relevant for the Centre’s programmes.
• Contribute to assessment of applications for the Centre’s programmes received from the country including content assessment, information verification, and reference checking.
• Provide logistical support to the Centre’s staff field trips, organise meetings.
• Submit written reports and media digests upon request of the Programme Officer.
• Attend events and meetings in the country on behalf of the Prague Civil Society Centre.


Necessary qualifications and requirements

• At least two years’ experience in a relevant field, e.g. activism, independent media, human rights, social work, international development assistance
• Fluency in Kyrgyz and Russian (essential), good command of English
• Excellent computer skills (MS Word and Excel), cybersecurity literacy
• High level of personal integrity, professional honesty and objectivity
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, ability to deal with diverse groups of people
• High-level of self-organisation, reliability and diligence in approach to work
• Readiness and flexibility to travel within the country (Kyrgyzstan) and outside of the county (Prague)

The volume of the responsibilities and tasks is not expected to exceed 20 hours per week and will require flexible working hours.
