As Grant Assistant you’ll play an important role in keeping the Centre’s grant-making programme on track and contribute to making the Centre’s work with the region’s most promising trend-setters and changemakers possible.
Primary Tasks & Responsibilities
•Manage your entrusted portfolio throughout the grant making cycle – from application and evaluation to contracting, monitoring and closeout
•Receive, check, and sort project proposals and other documents from applicants whilst keeping track of the entire evaluation and selection procedure
•Conduct risk assessments of potential partners and ensure a smooth contracting process
•Receive and check financial reports and other documents and proactively communicate any outstanding issues
•Cooperate with Programme Officers to assess reports and liaise with the Centre’s finance, communication and capacity building teams
• Ensure timely and diligent payments
•Administer part of the grant-making database
•Assist with reporting and presenting projects for internal audiences
Qualification & Requirements
•At least two years’ experience in a relevant field (e.g. grant-making agency, NGO or project & financial management in another sector)
•Fluency in English and Russian (written, in particular) is essential. Knowledge of Czech is not required.
•Excellent computer skills (MS Word and excel), cybersecurity literacy and experience in working with data
•High-level of self-organisation, reliability and diligence in approach to work
•Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, including the capacity to work in a multi-national team
•Patience and team spirit, as well as personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a dedication to the mission of the Prague Civil Society Centre.
The role is full-time (40 hours per week). The Centre can provide visa/relocation assistance to successful candidates, if needed (details can be discussed at interview stage).
