The Prague Civil Society Centre is a non-profit organisation supporting and empowering civil society and independent media in Eastern and Central Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. The position is suitable for recent graduates looking to gain expertise in the administrative and financial aspects of grant-making, or those seeking a part-time arrangement. However, tasks and responsibilities may be adjusted to correspond to the skills of a more experienced candidate.

Tasks and responsibilities:

• Review grantees’ budgets during a selection process and assess coherence with previously awarded grants; identify potential deficiencies and suggest actions to address them

• Review partners’ financial reports (including supporting documents) and prepare feedback with findings and suggested actions to resolve potential deficiencies

• Ensure compliance with internal financial guidelines and donor financial requirements

• Compile overviews and statistics related to the grant-making programme

• Assist with quality control of grant administration outcomes

• Provide general support to the grant’s administration team and other team members as needed

Qualifications and requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field

• Relevant working experience, in particular, financial management, financial reporting of grants, or auditing is an asset

• Proficiency in written and spoken English

• Excellent computer skills (MS Office), in particular MS Excel

• Well-organised, detail-oriented person with strong analytical skills

• Interest in grant administration and financial aspects of grant-making

• Proactivity, ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines

• Reliability and accuracy

• Ability to work in a multi-national team, patience, and a collaborative spirit

The starting salary for this position is CZK 40,000 for full-time employment (40 hours per week) with the possibility of adjustment after the probation period.
