What: Teaching fellowship at the Summer School on Nationalism, Religion and Violence hosted by Charles University, Prague and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

Who should apply: You must have a PhD and come from one of the Eastern European or Central Asian countries highlighted in yellow below.
The Summer Seminar on Nationalism, Religion and Violence is organised by Charles University, located in Prague and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. It is supported by the CEFRES–French Research Center in Humanities and Social Sciences, the School of Slavonic and East European Studies (UCL), the University of Birmingham and the Humboldt University of Berlin.
Two teaching fellowships are available for excellent candidates from fields relevant to the topics of Nationalism, Religion and Violence. The goal is to contribute to the study of violence and for the seminar to act as a catalyst for increased study of violence as a field of research.
The Teaching Fellowship fully covers travel costs, accommodation and provides a participation fee.
Who should apply?
The seminar targets highly motivated students, particularly graduate students, as well as post-docs and professional activists. To participate you must have a PhD and come from one of the countries in yellow:
Successful candidates are required to actively participate in the complete course of the Summer Seminar and give a two-hour lecture/seminar during the program based on their research.

• Curriculum vitae
• Proof of PhD program completion
• Proof of adequate English language

If you do not fit the criteria to apply for the Teaching Fellowship, don’t worry! It is still possible to take part through one of the four Study Fellowships offered by the Summer Seminar.
These fellowships will result in the reduction of the participation fee to 300 EUR. Successful candidates are required to participate in the complete course of the Summer Seminar.
The participation fee includes:
• Fieldwork excursions
• Cultural and social events
• Weekend excursion (1 full day incl. meal)
• Reading materials
• Refreshments during the seminar
Participants are responsible for covering their own accommodation, travel and visa costs
How to apply
The fellowships will be granted to PhD candidates/students or advanced graduate students coming from any of the countries in yellow in the map above.
