The Lviv Video Quest is a 10 day school aimed at developing the skills of young social activists and journalists in filming and editing videos suitable for sharing via social networks. The event is designed for young activists, bloggers, vloggers, journalist and social entrepreneurs from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine.
The Lviv Video Quest is also an attempt to re-establish cultural bridges between Central Asia, Azerbaijan, Belarus and Ukraine. In addition to gaining new skills, participants will have the opportunity to broaden their minds and challenge pre-existing stereotypes about each other.
The theme of the school: Civic initiatives aimed at improving social conditions in Ukraine.
The video school is in partnership with the School of Journalism of the Ukrainian Catholic university
How does it work?
The program is designed to give participants the chance to boost their skills in planning, shooting and editing short video stories.
During the school participants will be divided into 10 teams (Three people in each, with every team including one videographer from Ukraine). Each team will produce their own video with the support of professional trainers. The video will include English subtitles and won’t be longer than 2 minutes.
The organizers will cover all expenses for the participation on the programme (including transportation, food, accommodation and trips inside Ukraine).
Who can participate?
The school is open to anyone between the ages of 18-30 who is active in the social sphere and are also citizens currently living in one of the following countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan and Belarus.
Candidates with some experience in film making and videography will be given preference. Experience in journalism, blogging and NGOs is an advantage.
