At Video Quest you’ll learn how to make short, captioned videos tailored for sharing on social media, a format that can generate tens of thousands of views. The training will include a crash course in video filming and editing, as well as script writing.

Participants will be divided into teams, each of which will produce their own caption video of up to two minutes in length under the guidance of professional trainers.

What Will You Learn?

Video Quest trainers are professional journalists and video editors from leading international media outlets who will share their expertise in creating and promoting video content for social media.

Participants will use their own smartphones to film, gaining skills they can put to use straight away.

Applicants should be residents of Armenia between the ages of 18 and 28 and already have some experience making videos. Those with active blogs/vlogs or who have experience in non-profits or the media sector will be prioritised in the selection process.

Yerevan Video Quest is jointly organised by the Media Initiative Center and Prague Civil Society Centre. It is the latest in a series of video schools organised by the Prague Civil Society Centre. Previous sessions have been held in Lviv, Almaty, Bishkek and Osh.

Check out some of the videos produced at previous workshops published on Current Time, Radio Azattyk and Kloop.

You can also take a look at PCSC’s short video course on video production to see if learning these skills piques your interest.

The organisers will cover the cost of travel and accommodation for selected participants living permanently outside Yerevan. Food will be provided for all 20 selected participants.
